Healthy Habits - Antioxidants & Apple Sailboats

Healthy Habit of the Day...
Apples, and other fresh fruits, contain substances called antioxidants which help keep our cells healthy and prevent diseases. And because they're crunchy, apples help keep our teeth and gums healthy, too.
Recipe of the week...
APPLE SAILBOATS
Prep Time: 3 minutes
Makes: 8 servings
Ingredients:
  • 1 Apple
  • 2 slices of cheese
  • 8 toothpicks
Utensils:
  • A cutting board
  • A sharp knife
Steps:
  1. The first thing you want to do is check with a grown-up before you start this
  2. Once you get their "ok," ask them to help you wash and cut the apple into eight wedges; don't forget to remove the core
  3. Ask your grown-up helper to cut each slice of cheese into four triangular pieces
  4. Thread one cheese triangle onto each toothpick, making a sail
  5. Stick one sail into each apple wedge
  6. Enjoy your snack!
