Healthy Habit of the Day...
CARBOHYDRATES are the main energy source for the body, so remember to eat plenty of whole grain breads, cereals and pasta for energy.
Recipe of the week...
TERRIFIC TRAIL MIX
Prep Time: 4 minutes
Makes: 8 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of whole grain cereal
- 3/4 cup of mixed nuts
- 1 cup of mini pretzels
- 1 cup of dried fruit
Utensils:
- 1 large mixing bowl
- 1 large wooden spoon
Steps:
- The first thing you want to do is check with a grown-up before you start.
- Once you get their okay, dump all the ingredients into the bowl.
- Mix the ingredients together using a large wooden spoon.
- Enjoy!
* To give your mix an extra crunch, try using some granola. Be creative and make up your own special recipe of "Terrific Trail Mix!"
