Healthy Habit of the Day...
Fruits like apples, pears and strawberries contain FIBER which helps us to digest food and pass it through our bodies.
Recipe of the week...
FRUITY FACES
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Makes: 4 snacks
Ingredients:
- 3 cups of fresh fruit (like kiwi, strawberries, grapes, watermelon and apples)
- 4 rice cakes
- ½ cup of cream cheese or peanut butter
- A small box of raisins
Utensils:
- A sharp knife
- A cutting board
- Measuring cups
- A table knife
Steps:
- The first thing you want to do is check with a grown-up before you start this
- Once you get their "ok," ask them to help you wash and cut the fruit into small pieces using a cutting board and a sharp knife
- Spread cream cheese or peanut butter on top of the rice cake using a table knife
- Use the cut-up fruit and raisins to make a face on top of your spread
- When you've added enough toppings to make a face you like, you're done!
