Healthy Habits - Magnesium & Tortilla Snails

Healthy Habit of the Day...
MAGNESIUM is needed for making new cells, relaxing your muscles and producing energy. It's found in tomatoes, corn, sweet potatoes and spinach.
Recipe of the week...
SPIRAL TORTILLA SNAILS
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Makes: 4 snacks
Ingredients:
  • 1 8-inch flour tortilla
  • 2 tablespoons of ranch dressing or veggie dip
  • 2 thin slices of your favorite lunch meat
  • 2 thin slices of cheese
  • 4 cherry tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup of shredded lettuce
Utensils:
  • 4 toothpicks
  • A cutting board
  • A sharp knife
  • A table knife
Steps:
  1. The first thing you want to do is check with a grown-up before you start this.
  2. Once you get their okay, ask them to help you wash the tomatoes and lettuce.
  3. Ask your grown-up helper to shred the lettuce using a sharp knife and cutting board.
  4. Lay the tortilla flat on a cutting board and spread the dip or ranch dressing over it using a table knife.
  5. Place a layer of meat, as well as cheese, on top of the tortilla.
  6. Add the lettuce evenly over the tortilla.
  7. Roll up the tortilla tightly and place the 4 toothpicks in the wrap, evenly spaced.
  8. Ask your grown-up helper to cut the wrap into even sections, leaving one toothpick in the center of each wrap section.
  9. Add a cherry tomato to each toothpick.
  10. Enjoy
