Watermelon is a source of VITAMIN B1, which is essential for the functioning of your heart, muscles and nervous system. If you don't get enough vitamin B1, it can leave you feeling tired and weak.
Recipe of the week...
FROZEN FRUIT
Prep Time: 7 minutes
Makes: 1 serving
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of your favorite fresh fruit, like strawberries, grapes and watermelon
- 4-ounces of plain yogurt
Utensils:
- Some toothpicks
- A medium-size plate
- A sharp knife
- A cutting board
Steps:
- The first thing you want to do is check with a grown-up before you start this.
- Once you get their okay, ask them to wash and cut the fresh fruit into small "bite-size" pieces.
- Stick one toothpick in each piece of fruit and lay it on a plate (with the toothpick pointed upward)
- Fill the entire plate, leaving some space between each piece of fruit.
- Put the plate in the freezer for about an hour, or until the fruit is frozen.
- Enjoy! (Use plain yogurt for dipping.)
